Community Testimonials
Tacoma School District
If you believe as we do that our future lies in the hands of today's youth and that the quality of our youth is directly linked to the quality of our communities, then today's community is the backbone of our future. When we heard that the Pierce County Community Newspaper Group, which publishes our Tacoma Weekly, was in the process of developing an informational site for our Tacoma/Pierce County community area, we agreed to share our support with this testimonial.
First and foremost, the Tacoma Weekly is a reliable source of information as a news publication. In addition, they support our community in multiple ways. For instance, they have published a full student art page every month during the school year, for the past two years, free of charge to our Tacoma School District or the families of our young artists. This school year, they have distributed copies of the Tacoma Weekly to our schools, again, at no charge to the District nor the students. Several teachers throughout the District use the Tacoma Weekly as a learning tool in their classrooms, with a copy of the newspaper for each and every student, free of charge!
We have found their Comment and Editorial sections to be consistently fair and accurate. They truly are an integral part of our community, featuring individuals and non-profit organizations that make our community the true City of Destiny we are all so proud of. Whether it's sports, the Arts & Entertainment, businesses, big and small; School Briefs, City Briefs, Sports Shorts, Up Next, and their COMING EVENTS, the Tacoma Weekly invites its readers to participate in the power of community.
The Tacoma Weekly says it at the top of their paper, "Because Community Matters." The public education system is a large part of the definition of "community" and as such, is served well by the Pierce County Community Newspaper Group. In the end, all of our children are the better for it. Thank you.
